Dear God, talk about narrow minded. Look, I apologize that the guy is a little bit stranger than you and maybe a little eccentric, grow up and accept that some people are a little different from the "social norm".
I'm the narrow minded individual? I'm not judging those people. They've already made an example of the assholes that they are and I'm just observing based off of that example. A mature opinion would be, "I don't think thats very challenging", or "I wonder why he's doing this. I would never do that". Judging is calling him names and making personal attacks like he's stupid, ignorant, or insane. And the Mt. Everest thing was an analogy (if you know what that is) the point is, like I've said before, would you be albe to wait out in the cold for five months straight, asssuming you wanted to. Sure, sure you would.
I never said he deserved any of the attention he was getting. I just said all of you are assholes for judging and talking shit about someone that you don't even know. So what if it doesn't seem like a challenge. I'm sure you don't want to, but if you wanted to stay out in the cold for 5 months for a movie would you be able to do it? I seriously doubt it.
So a person who doesn't necessarily have a huge interest in Mt. Everest, but likes the climbing for the challenged and decides to climb it is a freak? Jesus Christ, normality doesn't necessarily imply that all of your goals and spontaneous nature has to comply with everyone elses. Get a life and some originality. What has the guy done that is wrong?
Don't you know how to be social with interesting people, or are you one of the stereotypical anti-social geeks that doesn't notice the shit spewing out of his mouth?
Yea. For all you guys who are unnecessarily mean to someone you've never met, READ his blog, and you'll see that he's got a lot more vision then most of you. I've actually stopped and talked to the guy on my way to school one day. He's perfectly normal, and very nice. It's a challenge and he's dedicated, he just chose a slightly odd challenge.

I'm the asshole? Who's the one judging people they don't even know just because they're jealous that they've never done anything interesting??
