...just ask sessions.
I think there needs to be a term defining the difference between reality and the responses on Slashdot. Of course computer nerds are going to be up in arms about using cookies to track info, the rest of the planet, however, is wondering why a computer site has an article referring to baked goods.
In my experience, you can develop applications much faster using RoR. I had an app written in PHP that took me close to two months to write and I had it rewritten in RoR in a little over a week. It's easier the second time around, but I didn't even know how to program in Ruby before using Rails.
Nothing like fanning the flames of an already hot topic between J2EE & RoR developers. Just watch, it's impossible to have an intelligent discussion between the two groups.
Including the monitor? At that point the box is going to be huge whether or not there's a dell box or the PIC. On the other hand, it would be very cheap to ship the sidekick...
The whole concept of this machine confuses me. It's for the people that can't afford a normal-priced computer, so AMD offers this $185 box that is good for absolutely nothing unless they also purchase a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Throw in $100 more and "Dude, you're getting a Dell." Albeit a shitty one, but at least not with this BIOS lock and a garbage OS. In my opionion, if you want to give people a useful tool for computing for the lowest TOTAL cost, just start handing out Sidekicks...
Is this really a surprise to anyone? The Internet is making TV less and less interesting by the minute. Broadband is the cataylst to really move the idea of spending more time in front of the computer than the TV mainstream.

How long have you been waiting for the right article to post those?

...as I sit here with terrible vision, this is pretty obvious in my opinion.
