Who the hell can afford to pay upwards of $1000 for Photoshop? Or how about $600 or more for Microsoft Office? I can build a high performance gaming machine for less than that!
As an example: I have purchased every single version of Linux that I have. Why? Because given the option of paying a REASONABLE price or downloading for free, I will pay for it. I have paid about $50 for each distro I have purchased.
If Steve wants us to pay for Windows, let's see them sell it for $50-$60. I would gladly pay that. Let's see Adobe sell Photoshop for $100 or less. Is there really a reason to sell it for more than that?
Steve: if you want to prevent piracy, sell software that John Q Public can afford to purchase.
