  5. Re:By the time 2.0 comes out on Firefox 1.1 Scrapped · · Score: 1

If you took the time to STFW and not troll, you'd know that Firefox 1.1 was going to have incremental binary patches like every other program that patches on the planet. No, you don't have to reinstall the whole browser, you just have to have write access to where Firefox is installed. And then it'll patch the EXE and any other files using deltas. Patches will be about 200KB and not 3MB.

The 1.0 patching system was pretty much a "this will work for the time being". Would you rather have a patching system which was sub-optimal, or a patching system that was not present? I'd pick the first option, and I hope anyone who is sane would too.

WinFS is not actually a filesystem. It's basically NTFS+ (compare to HFS+). If a computer that only understands NTFS reads the disk, it'll look like an NTFS disk. If WinFS is enabled, the indexes become avaliable. Basically, it's the Indexing Service on steriods. Or, at least, that's how I'm understanding it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

And if I am right, this will be one feature I'm turning off. The Indexing Service already pisses me off.

  9. yeah yeah on MacWorld Expo Traffic Analysis · · Score: 1

I'm sure that the operating system has /absolutely nothing/ to do with MacWorld Expo's website going down... </sarcasm> I was under the impression that Apple.com would get way more hits on a daily basis than the MacWorld Expo website. I realize there are other factors involved in this, but still, I think that the choice of server operating system is contributing to the problem.

Cause, like, isn't the iTunes Music Store on Apple's server? :)
