It seems like this OS could really be useful in the home market. From what I have read it seems to be alot easier to use then Linux , and it also seems like it would be alot better then Windows9*. I would really think about switching over to this and using it every day. They would just need to port Wordperfect , Netscape , and an Mp3 player. Quake3 wouldn't hurt either..
Why are we mocking Microsoft in a post about a college programing contest. This is a joke , and it isn't even funny. I am not a judge of humour but, this comment is totally off topic.
Sound like it would make a good Windows box. I wonder if you could play everquest on it , with a one of those 19.2kps wireless modems and a battery pack.
How in the world could you spend $400 dollars on this thing.
First you would need a 2.5inch hard drive, then a moded- ide cable. Then you need to install your favorite distribution of Linux on the hard drive. Then you would might want to get a keyboard, 20 dollars max. I can't find anything else you would want for this thing.
Cryix processors blow junks when it comes to anything 3d, but if you want to play 3d games you will be looking at a celeron/p3 or Athlon. Another problem is getting enough power and getting rid of the heat produced by Cyrix processors even though they tend to like to run hot. Even with these problems Cryix processors do a really good job when running desktop items and are really cheap. So if you wanted a good cheap computer for simple tasks you could get a cyrix & some cheap motherboard that surports 133mhz bus and has intergrated motherboard. Now we have a good use for all those 810 motherboards with no real 3d surport. I just hope they sell these things cheap enough to afford the 133mhz ram. Look at the possiblities for the thing instead of degrading it.

I dont know anything about Assembly language, but it seems like it could be hard to program a OS with it. One thing that does amaze me is that the download is 37k. This operating system doesn't do much with 37k but I'm for sure someone could add everything else need to make it do something interesting within a small amount of space. The whole computer could run off a 128k rom. Another plus might be the fact a computer could run entirely within Cache. I really think this small size thing could be useful if someone wanted to make a simple and very fast computer for really cheap price.

I really want to be the one that could say I was Akin Skywalker in the episode two. Sure it would be a pain to play the part being inexpreinced in acting. Then worst, forever being stuck in a shadow of Starwars which would leave me stuck doing lame sci-fi roles as a geeky kid. I would be forever be a star. It wouldn't matter what I did with the rest of my life, becuase I was Akin Skywalker. I could win noble prizes , but still first thing people would think of that I was Akin Skywalker. My Destiny would be Akin. Future would not matter.
Is it just me or does the part of Akin sound more like Hell then a future. Forever living in the shadow of Star Wars.
Living my life as a 19 year old failure that doesn't do anything more with his life then sit at a computer screen and type up posts on Slashdot would be better then being Akin for the rest of my life.
Instant stardom has it pitfalls. That's why famous stuff should be left to people who are famous like Leonrado DiCaprio. Really we all know that he would be best for the part. His life is already ruined.
