    Get over yourself.

If you're building a community forum where your visitors are likely to be repeat customers then IMO a more formal registration is appropriate.

How many people do you really think come to your website thinking, "Today I am going to join a community!"? Joining a community is not something people carefully plan out doing, it's something that happens if they try it out for a while and like it.

Your assumption that radiation kills at all is flawed.

At the point where we figured out that radiation is actually dangerous, we realized we did not know how dangerous it was. The only way to find out would be to expose people to radiation until they died, and doing so intentionally is obviously out of the question. So radiation regulations were formulated for the absolute worst case. This was very effective, which meant that there were very few accidential exposures to learn from.

The end result being that we are still working on finding out just how much damage radiation actually does. It is turning out (which should not be surprising, considering we assumed the worst to start out with) that it is less dangerous than what we prepared for. This is merely another example.

I'm sorry, this is a discussion about science. Politics is down the hall, to the left.

Science does not change depending on what your political leanings are. A republican and a democrat both fall at the same rate if they jump out a window. Doesn't matter if they believe in Newton or not.

The text you've read were not written by climate scientists. They were written by people pushing a political agenda. The entire field of climate science is unanimous in stating that humans are causing climate change that will sooner or later turn catastrophic. Nobody who has studied the subject in detail disagrees with this. The only real disagreement might be on how soon, and whether it's already too late to act.
