I'm sure he meant an operating system based on freedom versus an operating system based on a walled garden. Not sure how to clarify further than that. (Shrugs)
I have never heard of unlimited bandwidth for wireless data card, or USB modem for PC. I have been looking, and looking hard, as I also live in a rural environment. More info is needed to confirm that accusation.
I finally decided on a combination of both tethering (Verizon BB Storm) and satellite (WildBlue) both suck (mildly) for PC use, but I'm not going back to dial-up. As of three months ago I paid monthly $140.00 for internet at my house ($5 dial-up)($65 ATT Netbook)($30 BB Storm tethered)($40 WildBlue), had to drop ATT because the service sucked, didn't need dial-up if I was getting rid of my house phone.
