What resolution you render stuff
in doesnt really matter that much.
I just rendered a 6400x4800 image
yesterday so that I could get my rendertime down
becouse I resized the image to 320x240
the 3d app took care of the painfull extra
quality work.
So I sawed 2 hours from what
would have taken 9 hours to render.
Its object complexity and shader complexity that matters. (not to matter the quality you render in)
1. Antialiasing
2. Resolution
3. Motionblur
4. CatmullClarc Subdiv surfaces
5. Color correction
6. MASSIVE TEXTURE SIZES
7. Extreme number of hairs.
8. Displacement shaders
9. Texture Shaders
10. light shaders
11. Displacement of all genetic geometry at once.
ie every object has different xyz values for every vertex in every frame.
I seriusly dont that this DEMO does that.
Untill you get prman to run on your
gfx card this kind of thing means shit.
Not system has enogh bandwidth to plaback
a movie in even preview mode.
You need to render it first.
The MPAA doesnt have annything to do with this.
Sinse it is made in Sweden, a country that puts the right of the end user higher then the corporations there isnt anny law against this.
Does michael mean we as in the people of the USA or the entire humanity?
I see this verry often here at slashdot that you cannot express then difference between the two in a correct and informative way.
As I am not apart of the population that makes up the USA I tend to get a sickening fealing in my stomach everytime I am refered to as an american.
When writing the message I only assumed that he doesnt fully grasp the opensource idea.
I knew he couldnt possible have read the book.
I have so I know what it is about.
About 10% of the computer users are using linux.
Linux is important to them.
They might be a small portion of the world but
I would like to know how you can know that the whole wourld would agree with your atatemnt that I assume that I dont know that the book clarifies the opensource model of software development and ownership amongst other things.
And as a side note. Linux is really important for corel since they are going to have their full line of products on linux.
Side note 2: You seam to be a bit angry.
This conversation we are having is really not worth being angry about. You might want to change your priorities a bit.
Mr Derek Burney, if you are reading this I strongly encourage you to read the Cathedral and the bazar book.
It clarifies what open source is.
It seams to me that you dont fully grasp the subject of ownership and IP in an opensource world.
I have been trying to set up teTex for the last 2 weeks...
But no luck.....
Everytime I try to convert to dvi something crapps out on me.
Does annyone know what is required to install teTex? Or can you perhapps give me a runthrough of how to install teTex? (I just do./configure && make World right now)
btw: I dont use a distribution and I dont have a package management system installed, so packages wont install.
thanks

out www.blender.nl
It has realtime stuff now. So you
can make games (like quake).
Or just make buildings and walk around in them.
It would be a lot easier and faster to do this in
blender.
And they can save in the licensing money of
Quake (blender is free:)
SO in short. I dont see anny benefit
from using quake instead of blender.
Game blender will be free. It will be compleately free. This message was a bit shady about that. It is not I repeat not available for download now. It will be released in the end of june. You can now download blender 1.75 wich is not game blender. Game blender is blendder version 2.0. The current blender is freware with added bonus if you buy it. Game blender will contain everything that blender 1.75 does plus tools for making your own games without the nead for programing(its possible to program in python). And Game blender will be compleately free.
The swedish government laid out plans to spend about 1 billion$ And Private companies does the same. So the whole country of sweden(which allso allreaddy is the most internet able country in percentage (we only have 9 million people)) will have broadband within a few years. There allreaddy exists ways to get it for about 25$ a month if you live in one of the major cities. So this sounds like a really good thing. yay! Movies on demand.
Hmmm, The first parts of the bible where writen by humans a few hundred years ago. Why should they have writen the words of god? Who wrote them and more interestingly when, how and why were they written? I would really like to know how they were written? By a single dude in a room. Or a bunch of people in a room? How?
Why does it sounds like the USA
is the start and end to this sort
of research?
USA != The World
Please mention what country you
are talking about and dont make
me havto asume USA to be default
for eveything.
LOL
You do realalise microsoft has
lost severall times in court
over abusing its monopoly
to hinder other companies to
compete.
There is no need for me to get
into anny sort of argument about
it since it has been proven.
You have not thought your arguments through.
Try placing the word monopoly into the picture.
Objectevity without regard for the past
is the same thing as being blind.
I like my 2.5Mbit adsl connection :)
mmmmm 25$ month.......
That looks like crap
compared to the movie.
The complexity is non exeistand.
And it has a complete lack of color depth
and good shadows.
(not to mention depth of field or good lighting)

The article states "we" as in people in the USA,
why is this?
I am not an american and is therefore not a part
of "we".
So...
Why does the article writer think that EVERYONE
that reads the article are americans?
This annoys me.

blender is closed source.
Those shows dont conform to the docusoap format.
They are just about a couple of spoiled brats living in a big house/car_thingie(van?).
yes.
You can consider it like going from gimp1 to gimp 1.1.20 you get a whole lot of new feutures but everything old stays the same.
