You have to realize that Microsoft is a very big, very powerful company with an enormous R&D department

IMHO they just borrow great ideas, examples:

• MAC GUI -> Windows
• netscape -> IE
• ICQ -> MSN messenger
• google -> msn search ( look the web interfaces, they are identical !! )
