This is the third time/. posted an article from zdnet.com that pisses us Linux users off, that I can remember. I remember one of them being so obsurd, I thought, these people are either bored or looking for some readers. Very desperate. I refuse to look at that site anymore. They have none of my respect. Ignore them. They publish lame magazines and they use Microsoft to run their webserver.
I don't think they are looking for Design improvements. More like Bug/Stability/Performance improvements. X11 is a hog dog. It wasn't designed to play games very well.
Sun hates Microsoft for being worth BILLIONS more than sun for their inferior OS's. In addition, Micro$oft keeps fscking with Java.
Why pay hundreds of dollars for Office 2k when people can get the SAME functionality from SO. As long as Sun keeps SO clean and reliable. Microsoft will lose their coveted OFFICE market share.
SO would be an incredible opportunity for School systems considering what little money they have for software purchases.
