  1. Changing the structure of advertising on Television Reloaded · · Score: 0

I fail to see why with the obvious change in TV people assume that advertising will stay the same. I recently read an article in the New Yorker that talked about the challange that advertising firms now face with viewers being divided over more and more channels and the introduction of DVRs to the market. So far the solution that more and more companies are reverting to is to advertise within a TV show or movie. We are starting to see this more and more. Characters using brand name products and commenting on how glad they are that there was a large supply of Lysol in the house after a major party or beong famished and craving hot pockets. With this technique users are not able to fast forward through the "ad" because they would be missing their show. Problem solved, money made, everyone still happy.

Although I think that in this particular case the research was definately there, anyone can post anything they want online and call it news. I just think that since there are no guidelines to what can be called a news blog (in the objective sense) it's only fair that the bloggers are not given the same protections as "real" journalists.

Well, actually they already have something like this in Illinois. Illinois is pushing for drivers to get the I-pass which will charge your credid card automatically when you pass a toll plaza. You can still pay by cash and stay anonymous IF YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY DOUBLE THE TOLL!!! I have an I-Pass and went to the website to check the history. You not only see that the I-Pass was charged a fee, but you also see where it happened. Now why would that information be pertinent. Hrmmmm.....

I'm sorry but I do not think that making prison something like a Nazi work camp will lower crime. Most people do not think that they will be caught when committing a crime. If you want something to rehabilitate criminals do not send them to "criminal school". Instead it might be a nice idea to legalize LSD-imprinting reversal research started by Timothy Leary. He had an over 80% success rate before the US government stepped in and stopped his criminal actions....

In that case couldn't the networks create their own sharing sites of good quality and get paid for the ads like the rest of us do?. What's the difference if you see the ad during the show or while getting to the show download from the network's website? As long as they get paid is shouldn't be a problem. Come on, I can't believe that the only people that can't make money online are the ones who make it their business to make money any way possible :-)
