Like a piece of art, a website is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. If they blanched at $250k, see if there is anyone ELSE interested in it for that price. If not, then maybe the price IS high....
I just registered a domain through npsis, and was amazed at how much easier it was to get it done. I selected them for webhosting it too, based on price, and within 24 hours everything was all set.
"This cost a lot," she said, extending her right hand as though it held an invisible fruit. The five blades slid out, then retracted smoothly. 'Costs to go to Chiba, costs to get the surgery, costs to have them jack your nervous system up so you'll have the reflexes to go with the gear... You know how I got the money, when I was starting out? Here. Not here, but a place like it, in the Sprawl. Joke, to start with, "cause once they plant the cut-out chip, it seems like free money. Wake up sore, sometimes, but that's it. Renting the goods, is all?... "Trouble was, the cut-out and the circuitry the Chiba clinics put in weren't compatible. So the worktime started bleeding in, and I could remember it"
Last year about this time, my host, 9NetAve had an 'incident',which was described as a hard drive crash during the backup procedure. My site was lost completely. Apparently they only ever had one set of tapes, and it was lost. Just because your host is a large one, doesnt mean they know what the fsck they are doing.
...and love it! Ive set up a bunch of procmail filters on my main address that will forward me ONLY personal mail from a certain number of people, or if there are certain keywords in the topic.
While I agree that RCX code is lame (I use NQC when I build robots myself), my 6 year old son groks the RCX code pretty well, and can make it do fundamental things. Good for getting young kids into robotics and programming!
If the scientists are looking for brain donations, I'm sure we can get a half dozen or so from the management around here. They arent using them for much anyway...
NASA has stated repeatedly that they will bring the tanks the rest of the way into orbit (Currently they only bring it to 98% orbital vel) for *FREE* if someone has a valid way to use them. They dont want them floating around up there as so much space junk.

Too bad he wrote it in Visual Basic. The idea of tracking barcodes in the trashcan is pretty cool. Make your own shopping lists and stuff.
