Sure blind people have money. Not all blind people have that kind of money -- $900 for one version of JAWS. So, open source is a better option for those that can't afford the overpriced software.
But since blind people have money and are able to buy a piece of software - there is some commercial software written for them. I think it's as simple as that.
Not to flame you, but how do you know blind people have money? Am I out of loop? No one told me that if your visually impaired you're rich? Where do I go to get my millions??? Are you visually impaired? If not, I'd rather you not give an opinion like that -- that blind people have money and can buy expensive software.
That's like saying I'm lucky I can't drive, while I'm walking in the rain and soaked head to toe. Or complaining about your 25 minute drive to work, while it took me at least an hour -- in bad weather.
Yes, I'm visually impaired, and no I do not have enough money to buy the software.
