Steve Jobs really messed up when he chose to make this fight. He should have also used Apple's massive cash position to purchase H264 or the patents, or whatever it would have taken to solve the H264 issue by making it open source. With that one move it would have removed so much uncertainty and jump started the whole idea by several years. Now we have HTML5, but madness in the codec arena.
At mlb.com yesterday, there was almost nothing but complaints about poor service for both audio and video feeds. Funny I can't find any of the RSS feed articles from yesterday... all the negative posts have been removed from mlb.com but they all went more or less "what a waste of $109."
If you are 1 minute late with a payment - $39 fee
If you are late paying a credit card, your other credit cards can jack the rate to the max - universal default
Got a problem with e-bay or pay-pal? Good luck getting a hold of anyone.
Got a problem with equifax? Good luck with that one. Took me a year to get a car that my ex-wife refinanced off my credit report. They said I had not paid the loan in a year. That's true, because I NO LONGER EVEN HAD THE LOAN!
These are huge companies that would never think twice about making your life more expensive and more hellish, but if you have a legitimate problem, it's almost impossible to get to these faceless companies.
Absolutely they should be forced to replace ALL cards in question EVERY time this happens. They are making so much money off of so many people and yet, they don't get the slightest punishment when they screw up.
Try being an Apple user waiting on the 3GHz G5 that was gonnna happen within a year, 2 years ago.
Why do these people even make promises? Everthing is "coming" and everything is "beta."
It's not like HTML5 solved countries having borders.

Steve Jobs and the CIA told us this was going to be a slam dunk! What happened?
Adobe and Apple are in some sort of weird cold war. They stick it to each other in sly ways.

... but if NASA had Geek Squad Black Tie Protection Premium, this would be a non-issue.
