don't kid yourself - sites like this are dying for any kind of publicity. a story on/. is worth more than any ad they can place themselves and costs a hell of a lot less $. furthermore, if they can't handle the traffic they'll get from one/. story then they're not gonna last long anyway, certainly not with the service they're offering, which is quite bandwith heavy.
