That is the typical problem I faced as a non-geek woman to get Linux installed on my machine. Firstly, the support system is mostly online and erratic to say the least. If I dont have my system setup and running properly how will i get help. Secondly, assuming one can get the answer reading tech 'help' files or online manuals is a fallacy best avoided. If the help files or manuals had all the answers why would i be posting a question online? Most of the S/W is CLI based and dont have GUI support. It is very scary for a non-geek to experiment with and expecting them to learn CLI commands for so many applications is such a waste of time since the *real work* never gets done and one is left poring over reams of tech material. Programmers/Designers please realise that its the end-user who will decide the popularity of software and if easy to use/learn software is not provided then he is not going to waste his time even if it is free.
