At least in Canada, we got 3 parties. We feel special about this. Choice is good.:)
Which Canada are you from?
Right now we have 5 major parties in Canada.
Just for anyone who doesn't know: Liberal - current gov't Reform - Western based party, official opposition. Conservative - Broken shell of a former gov't, screwed us with free trade and more taxes, yumm. NDP - Good old Canadian socialist based party. They will never die.
The problem is, if you don't vote, you're indicating that you don't give a damn what laws are passed and what direction your country/{province, state}/{city, town} etc take. If you don't feel that there's a candidate that you support in the running, go in and decline, or spoil your ballot. Hell, even pencil in a candidate that you feel is deserving. If you can't be in town on the day of the vote, make alternate arrangments. There's tons of options open to you for alternate voting methods. If you didn't vote, complaining about a law later on makes it pretty tough to take your concern seriously.
Just want to point out here that under the YOA, minors are punishable all the time. It's children under 12 who are not able to go to trial for any crime under this law. From 12-17 Children are punishable, but to a much lesser degree than 18+
Get an account. Voice you "resentment" with a name and email to back it up or get the fuck out.
If you don't like it so much, start your own site. Obviously there's enough want for these types of articles that they're worth posting. A bunch of weak ACs bitching about it is not a good way for "the community" to tell the posters that their choice of content is not appreciated by the majority.
Actually, this applies more to the French spoken in Quebec than to the french spoken in say the praries of Canada. Most of my french teachers in high school were from Belgium and France, thus my french was more "pure" than french in quebec. It also makes it very hard for me to speak with people from Quebec.
Fun fact: St. Boniface, a part of Winnipeg, is the largest French community in Canada outside of Quebec.
Just a quick note here... OpenBSD claims to be the most (or close to) secure OS out of the Box. {Free,Net,Open}BSD are not the same OS at all. There is a much bigger distinction between them than say two different distros of Linux.

Wow, I can't even believe this post, and most of the other posts like this.
One of the traits I've always associated with "nerds" and "geeks" is the love of something cool simply because it's cool, not because it's somethig that is immediately useful in life. Judging something by simple utility is a trait I commonly associate with management students, simply because that's how the majority of them seem to think. (of course you're thinking, wow, what a stereo-type, but I think going on trips with 30 or so management students moves me past the glib stereotyping stage to at least semi-glib, or quasi-glib).
Anyways, point is, this is *cool*, even if it's not useful. If you can't use it, boo hoo, there's tons of stuff in the world I can't use, you don't see me bitching about it on Slashdot.
I don't think you realize just how not free the US media is. Check out Project Censored here
If you think Canada lacks Freedom of Press, it's obvious you've never heard of the CBC, an insitution with far more freedom and far more honesty than anything public or private that exists in the US.
Another case of judge not lest ye be judged. If we're going to talk about Chinese human rights, we should talk also about the way the US treats it's South American neighbours, and the way it uses it's own military personel to test out drugs in the field.
Well, your first problem here is automatically believing someone when they tell you that X number of copies of software are being pirated.
Where are they getting this information? In a communist country who's been historically closed to any investigation, where are they getting the access to collect the information?
Maybe it's a "commie" thing, since we here in Canada (who everyone knows is full of commies;) seem to have a piracy rate of 40% in business.
I think it's still mirrored at cdrom.com, does pretty much the same thing, fits on four floppies, IRRC. My first install for Linux, didn't know much at the time.
The farce that it is? Right, perpetrated by the political left in order to curb the profits of the oh-so environmentally friendly corporations of the world? *lmao*
Why not sign up for the project? Then if they do shelve the results at the end of the project, announce it back here. If they don't, announce the results anyways.
Or is it a case of "Oh, they just fixed the data to show that the globe is warming up, buncha pinkos..."
