Only since recently, but it's now possible to completely disable all of OpenDNS' bad behaviour. (You have to register, create a network, go to advanced settings, and disable the proxy/shortcuts/typo correction settings).
The google proxy 'feature' has been invisible and impossible to turn off for over a year though, pretty nasty behaviour since only a very small part of their users would actually need it.
