YAY..I mean yay....hmmm...whatever. MS SQl server allows people to connect to their database for free! MySQL not so much. As a large and repeated commercial user of the database (boo hiss) I can honestly say that my experience with them has been bad enough to not recommend them to commercial clients...hence we build our own MySQL from the "good branch", and let them use that.
I just make sure that when they IPO and the big boys take notice they realise the legal mine field that the GPL brings to the table. As i would hate to see this bastion of open source engineering become a company relying on litigious revenue.
