Who needs Vista? I have no problems and no limitations with my GNU/Linux. I can change all the hardware I want with small changes to the configuration and not getting a broken system when I add/replace something.
I use KDE and I really like it, but I used to use GNOME too and it doesn't seem this piece of sh*t, it is a real good product. I think Linus should have more respect for the other people's job and try to be less egocentric, even if linux is the best kernel out there at the moment Linus doesn't always seem so correct to judge others IMHO.
Vi is a lot different from emacs. I use vi when I have to modify faster a configuration file from shell but I need emacs when I want to do something more complex. In my opinion the "war" between vi and emacs is a stupid thing. They are both good free software products, choose the one you like more, I like how emacs can be customized and improved with its emacs-lisp and I like vi when I have to edit a simple file. If you want the GTK version of emacs you can compile it by yourself, this is what I did.
Yeah, debian is the best distro out there but what do you think about remove non-free software at all? Even if you do that distinction non-free software is yet supported by debian. Another little thing, you should try to apply less patches, often programs in debian are totally different from upstream. I love APT!

It is really nice that apache released code can be used inside GPLv3 applications, this solve a lot of problems and source code can be reused easily.
I completely agree, without GNU and the GPL a lot of projects were not possible at all.

It will be not so different from GPL 2, there is no reason to fear such things.
