I have had VoIP service thru vonage for about 5 monthes now. Haven't had any problems or any power outages. I know the concern when the power goes out but with a cell phone as a standby I am all set.
I pay about $28 a month for unlimited calls and can take my router with me if I go anywhere in the country and make/receive local calls from anywhere.
I would strongly suggest get VoIP if you can. Send a mesage to Verizon that we wont pay HUGE amounts for phoe service!!
