Consider that in the past, Wintel machines were exactly that, Windows + Intel. Often the MS Windows taglines were followed by the "Intel Inside" outro to an advertisment.
How would Microsoft feel if Dell advertisments featured "Apple Inside" with that annoying chime at the end. The positive advertisment of Apple combined with the misrepresentation of the relationship (and possible consumer confusion) could no doubt account for a percentage point of sales amongst users not clued into the actual situation.
