the real answer is for people not to respond to spam...if there was no profit, it would not attract so many folks...outlawing drugs hasn't stopped drug use...prosecuting spammers will just make the remaining few more powerful...folks need to be edumacated:-)

It may not be a perfect analogy, but cars today are not capable of speeds they were not capable of 20 years ago...In addition, isn't the true test of "speed" for most users is how long it takes to accomplish the task at hand..ie produce a pretty spreadsheet?
I think the google search engine is tops like most folks...but...If the stock were such a great thing why are the people who own the largest amounts of it suddenly selling it hand over foot, whether via ipo or employee incentives...one would think they would want to keep something if it was that valuable
is there really anything in the kernel that could be patented? wouldnt only single projects be affected (ie samba) not Linux itself?
