I wouldn't be surprised if the next competitor for google and yahoo in the searchbiz would come out of China. There are already very decent search engines available in China like baidu.com, sogou.com or zhongsou. Zhongsou (which provides search for china's biggest portal sina) claims that they are ahead of all competitors in the field of desktop search: "We are eight months ahead of all our competitors in terms of technology - at least, thanks to our latest desktop search software," said Chen Pei, president of zhongsou.com, a leading Chinese search engine provider.
