I think I have seen this before, maybe a few months ago....seems like Deja Vu

  2. Opera, EU, and Microsoft on Opera Tells EU That Microsoft's IE Hurts the Web · · Score: 1

I like prolly every other person on here sees that IE's lack of standards compliance regarding the web browser is an issue for all, but my concerns are the following: The Windows OS is the property and work of Microsoft, as such why should Microsoft not be able to include a browser or any other product they have Second lets say there is no browser included with Microsoft OS how do except a home user to download any browser....sounds like more headaches than anything Also, since this is Microsoft's OS and product they should be able to include any of their products they see fit, by including the browser they are not stopping anyone from installing firefox, opera, etc. If opera is so much better why doesnt it have the 77% market share. Instead of having the EU fight Microsoft for you man up and put out a product that people can't deny is not only better but is more useful than IE. For most IE works just fine so why would they switch. Market your product better. Dont get mad get better.

  3. Re:Budget Filler? on EU Says Microsoft Still Not Compliant · · Score: 0

So let me get this straight the EU wants Microsoft to Document there propietary protocols because Microsoft does a great job of integrating all of there technologies, and making it easy for Admins and users alike to use them. Correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't Novell, or Red Hat, or Unix, Mac all try there hand at integrating all of there services and products just like Microsoft. The problem is Linux, Unix, and Mac cannot compete with Microsoft because they do not integrate there technologies as well. So instead of them creating there own lets make Microsoft Document it so everyone can use it. Its not Microsoft's problem that Linux, Unix, and Mac cannot make products that can compete with them, and they should not have to Document there ways in order to help them. Its there products if they don't want to share then so be it. Thats amazing

Hell who knows maybe the EU is draining the Microsoft monopoly with all there lawsuits! Okay kidding aside Microsoft was probably getting tired of going to court for stupid shit like this and other issues. Has Microsoft done wrong before, Ofcourse, but I think this was a smart move on there part. Maybe they could have charged a little less but its not like they are coming into the anti-virus business and undercutting the Symantec's and McAfee's tons. Like I said before if Microsoft allows this to be free or intergrates it into Vista thats just one big lawsuit waiting to happen. Hell Symantec was already looking into that while it was in beta so....

  5. Re:Extortion on Microsoft Officially Announces Anti-Virus Product · · Score: 5, Insightful

Why is Microsoft considered evil when they introduce an anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall for a fee. This is purely a business decision to protect Microsoft from lawsuits. Lets see her if Microsoft was to include this service for free or intergrate it into Windows Vista, then companies like Symantec, Mcafee, etc would sue the shit out of Microsoft, just like other companies sued Microsoft over intergrating a office suite in Windows. If you want to talk about something evil why don't we talk about the people who write these viruses, spyware, malware, etc. They are the reason we have to have so many security solutions in the first place. Its amazing how much hate there is for Microsoft on /. If you don't like it then quit using it. There are other solutions out there, so if you feel that Microsoft is so evil then quit supporting there products.
