  1. Do you find it reasonable? I thought not. on EU Commissioner Slams Music Lock-In · · Score: 1

'"Do you find it reasonable that a CD will play in all CD players, but an iTunes song will only play on an iPod?" asked Kuneva. "It doesn't [seem reasonable] to me. Something must change."' "Do you find it reasonable that an iTunes song will play in all CD players?"
O! Sorry! That was the wrong question.
"Do you find it reasonable that an American is cleaning up in the digital music and video download space and that Europe is doing nothing?" I thought not.

Don't worry, Apple knows it's business and that making procs isn't it. I'd bet on IBM if anyone.

Though it won't happen. Bask in ruminations of what would happen if Apple bought AMD.

The truth is that the majority of scientists don't believe the theory of evolution so they use other words more consistent with their understanding of science.

  6. Microsoft? Who? on No Virtual PC for Intel-based Macs · · Score: 1

No loss. Microsoft could only make a second or third rate competitor for Parallels or VMware anyway. I don't think we'll need any virtualization to run Windows programs in the long run anyway. http://sixnine101.com/blog/2006_08/04_apple-cider/

  7. Exciting possibilities beyond Parallels and VMware on VMWare Announces Version for OS X In Development · · Score: 1

  10. Bottom Line on Microsoft Blocking Wine Users From Downloads Site · · Score: 1

To me the bottom line is that they are trying to guard against pirating with these new measures.

The bottom line problem is that they aren't just checking if the app you are updating is pirated but also the OS underneath; and in that check WINE fails as if it were a pirated Windows.

If the app is legal and the OS is legal (tho it be WINE) they should be required to allow updating (tho they don't need to SUPPORT WINE, they must allow it to try updating).

  11. The World is dying on NASA Says 2005 Could Be Warmest Year Recorded · · Score: 1

These guys are a little off the mark. Global warming is a combination of very-long-term weather cycles and the earth slowly dying.

"First fact to consider is just one lone volcano in an eruptive phase releases more of these toxic gases in a single day then mankind has in its species existence"

The problem is that there are more volcanic eruptions. Volcanic activity is increasing very fast and is a major symptom of the planets approaching death.

Maybe they should fast track the terra-forming of Mars.
