I have to agree. The conduit itself has been a huge time/effort saver for me in the past. Having it run from a central location to all the other locations (with pull string!), will set you up for years to come.
You may have extra time securing the conduit, but also think of all the extra time you'll save not having to secure the wiring/cabling all through the house - just pull and connect. Then upgrades repairs are just as simple as well (as long as you remember to replace the pull string each time!)
Aside from the latency of Sat service, unless you have a way to prioritize the VOIP traffic, you'll also be fighting for bandwidth against any other internet usage over that connection. Even on a fast, low latency connection - my VOIP suffers severely if I have a few Bittorrent downloads going.
I can just imagine getting stuck in the mud and trying to rock the car out.... taxed for 2 miles of driving but I only moved back and forth a foot a couple hundred times...
The *green* fatigues also keep the Canadian soldiers from being confused with American soldiers.
Sort of the same reason why half the American Embassies/Consulates overseas recommends that American tourists say they're Canadian or tell them to where a Maple Leaf on their bag/coat.
"The Canadian Army has been rusting out for a while"
Come on buddy - how are our dogsleds really going to rust? We have more to wory about when our command post melts in the spring.

Who says Canada would have them?
