From whta I have read about the Playstation2, it will be backwards compatible. However, will it be world-wide compatible, or will it be like the original and only play Japanese games? The specs on the system made me put off buying the Dreamcast, but I won't get the Japanese version if I will have to get an American version as well.
I assume the accuracy and range could be improved by constucting better parabolic reflectors. Or, better yet, a Mag-Lite style adjustable beam. With the proper shielding on one side of the device and decent reflectors, it may well be safe to use regardless of what is around you.
Of course the uses for such a device would be both good and bad. I think I want one for all of the people who drive down my street with their radios turned all the way up.
The 32MB RAM should be more than enough. IIRC, the original on had 2MB RAM. Since none of it is taken up by OSes, drivers, virus scanners, etc...
WTF is the differance between the Dual Shock and Dual shock 2? The picture looks identical to the one I already have.
Does anyone know of any compatibility issues with the PCMCIA card slots? Or the USB/FireWire ports? Will my PC stuff work in it (hopefully?)?

BOOM...BOOM...BOOM...Bzzzzt!
I think the user should be able to modify the appearance of the furby.
"Look, I got the basketball skin for BOB!"
A fan would work for moving the "flying Furby" around because it would be in the atmosphere of the main vehicle...
I think we should all consider how easily hidden such devices will be...
As much hidden camera work goes on already, it will be that much easier to do when the camera is invisble.
Who would want to surf the web, not only on a web-tv style box, but also at modem speeds (56k?), even though you have the cable line there already?
Ok, some people don't have cable, or no access to cable modems, but wouldn't that be a lot cooler?
