Some people are die hard Linux "freebie" users, but people like me pay the $75 for a killer distro like Suse 9.2 and NEVER have a problem keeping our systems up to date.
For me it's worth it. My 64-bit box has been thankful a long time. I recently installed it on both my kids computers, too. I could not let them grow up on Microsoft OS, thinking that system crashes were to be accepted and promises of a better tomorrow was a good enough excuse.:)
