Who cares if he views us all as consumers as long as he does not criminalize strong encryption. I'mn not voting for the man but at least he did not say it was evil and need to be outlawed like Clinton would have
I cna think of 1000's of apps for windows. And you add the ones who have Windows Versions or ones that 50% of all sales for are Microsoft version Based. Plus all the little guys you have a lot of appilications. Just because they have more applications then Linux shouldn't make you green with envy.
A community activist I know here is trying to use Lowpower FM to reach the local hispnic community. Most of which don't have a computer, can't afford a computer, don't speak english. The news they here on the radio now is corporate controlled and does not refelct there needs. Low power FM is a great resource for this community. They already have it up and running but the FCC made them shutdown until congress finishes debating it.
Ignorance is never an execuse according to the law. That is like saying I didn't know my neighbor owned that Plastic Jesus Lawn Decoration I just took it anyway.
Copyrighted Files Downloaded from Gnutella are just as illegal as copyrighted files downloaded from Napster the only differnce with Gnutella is there is no company to sue.
I think saying Microsoft is an innovator and has improved the most in the last 10 years is not an understatement. Microsoft now has onee of the largest R&D Departments in the industry and every year there products advance. Personally I don't see much difference between Linux now and Linux 1990 except for the obvious advancements that all OS have. Linux is good for the Open Source model but that is it. I droped Linux in 1992 because it could not keep up with my needs as a System Administrator (and I got money to spend on Solaris).
The US dominates far to much in the Internet space. I think people should be able to use whatever TLD they want. I want to register linux.sucks The rest of the world should protest the US dominated Domain name. Maybe when IP6 gets implimented sometime in the next 50 years.
I wanted a couple of years ago to start a group called hackthehackers.org. The purpose would have been to hunt down hackers and make them have very bad days using the same techniques that they use against other people. We would take over the #irc destroy there web site, run up there long distance bill, use there calling card, and whatever else we could think of.
I decided this was unethecial and in general just a bad Idea for the following reasons:
1. Hackers are not bad people they just are curious and good at finding holes.
2. Hacking the hackers would esentially bring the wrath of the computer god on you.
3. You are know better and are breaking the law in exactally the same manner.
Thats Pretty Accurate, I used mine in college. I had the entire Periodic table in there so you could say h*2+O = 18 the atomic weight of water this was awesome for blancing chemical equations and geting an A in chemestry.!!!
