Your implied premise couldn't be more wrong. There is no link between autonomously driving cars and car sharing. Autonomous driving is just another feature a new car will have. Like cruise control and self parking. These features contributed nothing to peoples desire to give up car ownership. Autonomous driving will not either.

This would almost never be true. People are just not that Jeckle and Hyde. Even if they are, I would not want Jeckle working for me...the dumbass ignored all kinds of reasonable scientific protocal by testing his concoction on himself because he wasn't responsible and patient enough to devise a more reasonable way conduct his experiment.
Amen, This happens alot here. The argument is often made in the geek community that 90% of software users never use more than 10% of the features of program like Microsoft Office. No source data for this statistic is ever given. My opinion, based on my limited but attentive personal experience, is that 50% of MS Office users collectively use 90% of its features. The reasons for choosing one program over another go way beyond how much it costs and who produces it.
