I had problem with the NFS lockd exiting with an error... latter I found that it is no more required, since that lockd functionality is now built into the kernel.
You are assuming that they are simulataneously broadcasting all 60 channels over the DSL. I think only the compressed stream for the channel that you have selected on your SETTOP box will be sent on the DSL.
You should consider using AMD Athlon. It gives a higer system bus speed. For your kind of application, there could be significant performace difference.
I think, The consumer should encourage competition. For quite sometime, Intel had a monopoly on the PC processor market. Now I am happy that AMD has better processor than Intel. So next time, when I buy a PC, I know, I am not been ripped off because of monopoly.

So can we have a DVD MOvie player for Linux which can use these hacked keys to decrypt the content?
