My father used to use a similar trick with Burger King. He had found a valid buy-one-get-one free for a Whopper and found that when he said he had a coupon when he placed his order, they never asked him to hand over the coupon when he paid for the two Whoppers. He used that coupon WELL beyond it's expiration date and no one ever questioned either the validity of the coupon or its expiration date. Eventually someone did ask for the coupon, but he sure got a lot of free Whoppers in the process.
The word "choice" unfortunately gets quite mangled in the common usage when discussing homosexuality. While it is quite true that everyone makes a choice to do anything, whether it be to sleep with men, women, or both, the DESIRE to do so is innate. I've known many men whose innate desire is to be with other men, but for societal reasons, they end up getting married to women and having children and such. Similarly, there are many men in prison who innately desire women, but given the proclivity of other options, the choice is made to have sex with other men. For anyone who is out of the closet, they are simply choosing to align their outward choices with their innate desires.
And while I agree with you that regardless of your sexual orientation, you are free to walk around saying "I am gay", I would advise you to be very careful where you say it -- you may end up tied to a fence in Whyoming and beaten to death.
Have you ever tried to install Mono and it's related libraries/tools? It took me several attempts before I felt like I had gotten it right -- and then I was purposely trying to do it. I can't imagine malware patient enough to do that.
I feel your pain on that one. I got tired of always feeling like I had to take the first consulting job I could find whether or not it was a good fit for me. So, I saved up a bit of dough, finished my last gig in November 2004 and spent the next two months really trying to find a good fit.
Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if you ask all the right questions if the person qualified to answer them isn't around during the interview process. I thought I had a solid lock on what I would be doing starting January 3rd when I started -- only to discover over the course of the next two weeks that it was completely opposite of what I wanted to do. I left there by the end of January without something else to go to.
Fortunately, within a couple of weeks, I actually found another position through a friend that is MUCH better and a closer fit to what I am looking for.
Check out your local LUG -- maybe someone can hook you up -- that's what happened to me.

I had no idea Richard M. Stallman was an audiophile.
