This sounds cool. Long live Be.

And that is why this movie should never been made. I was enthusiastic at first, but five minutes into the movie, I felt like a lump in my stomach. LOTR was not meant for the silver screen. End of discussion. Consider this flamebait.

  3. Re:DVD release on The Hype of the Rings · · Score: 1

I saw a short "behind the scenes"-program on Swedish television where they said that there would be a DVD release of FOTR pretty soon after the movie release. This release would be extended to include "behind the scenes"-clips and other info about all the special effects. I don't know however if they are going to release a bundle DVD with all the three movies in 2003, but I sure hope so.

We are actually just below 6000 visitors this year, but thats just because DH has become more mainstream the last years. It used to be a demoparty, and i miss that.

Actually the power and 10/100mbit switched network has been working flawlessly. And the 1gbit uplink is just fine. To bad this place crawls with 14 year old gamers sucking up the bandwidth. ;)

Does anyone have a videostream on a line that can take the slashdot effect? Would be nice for us without Cable/American TV.

I don't know how related this is, but if you are looking for a Unixish environment under Win32 you can always take a look at Cygwin. It is a collection of GNU console software and a Unix emulation layer (.dll). Get it.

  10. If you want a really obfuscated languange.. on IOCCC Accepting New, 'Improved' Entries · · Score: 1

You should take a look at the Shakespeare Programming Language, or SPL for short. It combines the best features of BASIC, assembly language, and Hamlet. In SPL, every program is a play, and the plot closely follows the program execution. You can program SPL for a living during the day, then come home and read the source code as a good-night story.

    How's that for obfuscation?

Douglas Adams got me intrested in litterature with his amazing work. His imagination is beyond my understanding and i love his HGTTG. I hate to see such a brilliant writer die so young and i feel very sad for his mother and daughter.
