You really think Amazon wants to take the PR hit by suing a contractor who worked in their warehouse for 10 dollars an hour?
Have you seen the way they treat their warehouse workers, they don't give a crap, they would have no qualms about suing the employee. 'No news is bad news'
Nonsense, they don't have a contract with the new employer so they can't sue them, the employment contract is with the employee, that is the only person they can sue.
As much as I disagree with your post, it's doesn't strike me as a troll. I'm getting sick of people modding posts as troll simply because they disagree.
As others have pointed out the debate is pointless since we don't have any real AI and I'm not convinced we'll have anything as intelligent and sentient as a average human anytime soon.
Asimov assumed the laws could be hard coded, if we do create AI that probably won't be true.
We are living in a world with more than one video camera (cellphone) per person now, and there is a lot less 'ufo sighting' movies than ever.
Maybe this isn't true, there are half a million 'ufo sighting' videos on youtube, this one video is interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?... Includes congress people, senators etc.
I don't think we need to worry about aliens, we're probably going to destroy the planet ourselves.
Are aliens still a big thing? I thought that fad had kind of fizzled. We have got to the point where no camera footage with UFO's in will be believed because footage is so easy to fake now.
Real dystopian world domination by corporations is being achieved one treaty at a time, but that doesn't make for a juicy story.
I may watch it on one condition - they change the theme tune, it's annoying.
. Solar is NOT cheaper and it may not even be "cleaner" than other options when you consider the whole lifecycle of the system.
Are you aware that the prices of solar panels and batteries are falling constantly and that is widely forecast to continue. modern solar panels do degrade slowly - good ones at about 0.5% per year, that means they'll still be pumping out plenty of energy in 50 years time.
Solar panels will very soon be the cheapest option without subsidy even against fossil fuels that are subsidised.
I already have a "robot" that opens my garage door when I'm near, a "robot" that chews up the food in my sink, I use a "robot" to deposit/withdraw money at the bank,
Those are not robots, they do not meet the definition of a robot.
a machine capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically, especially one programmable by a computer.
'Complex' being the important bit... I think Google's definition is also a bit over-simplistic, one expects robots to do many actions with little or no direct human control.
No longer true, ddr3 has been around for years, an i7 from a couple of years back is still good, upgrading a SSD from a SSD of a couple of years back won't make much system performance difference for a normal desktop.
The increments are tiny these days, you're lucky if you get 5% speed boost from the latest CPU or GPU.
Maybe because the geothermal, wave and tidal energy generation is currently trivial in scope and expensive
Generation is small because more is needed, how is that an argument against? Price would be lower if there was more R&D, same goes for any industry.
Bio-waste generation is actually not very green if you look at the composition of what's coming out the smoke stack.
What comes out of the smoke stack is what the plants took from the air in the first place, zero sum AFAIK.
people already invest in all of the energy efficiency improvements that pay for themselves
They most definitely don't, how many people do you know who have 'Thermodynamic Central Heating Systems' or ' ground source heat pumps' or 'air source heat pumps'? these can save up to %75 or %80 fuel usage.
For base load, we should be trying to get rid of coal by replacing it with nuclear and natural gas.
Nuclear is pants for base load, it is inflexible just like wind or solar PV. Natural gas is of course a CO2 emitter.
Hydro is great but pretty much already at maximum..
Conventional hydro may be near maximum in many places, pumped hydro on the other hand has massive potential and is very useful for storing energy for when it's needed.
How hugely ironic that you choose to spout prejudiced BS about environmentalists only liking solar + wind, and then you go on to ignore geothermal, wave, tidal, bio-waste, energy efficiency, and plenty of other ways to create, store and reduce energy usage in a less destructive manner.
IDK why BBC are reporting this now, it happened a year ago, summary also doesn't mention that he handed himself back in within a week of escaping.
WTH were you doing to them? I call BS.
Have you tried ofcom/adjudicator, they sorted out my beef with Virgin Media pretty quickly (couple of months total).
Have you seen the way they treat their warehouse workers, they don't give a crap, they would have no qualms about suing the employee. 'No news is bad news'
Nonsense, they don't have a contract with the new employer so they can't sue them, the employment contract is with the employee, that is the only person they can sue.
How many warehouse workers can afford to fight Amazon in court?
It's a scummy move by Amazon, there should be laws against this kind of thing, with very large fines.

I not a Clarkson fan, I just watched that and it sounds like he says "uh nuh nuh nuh by the toe". It doesn't sound like 'nigger' at all.
Or how about they follow our laws!

Wow, whoever modded your post as flaimbait must really hate aliens big time, perhaps they've been abducted and probed in the past.

He watched The Machine

Nuclear is cheaper! Not any more.
And no-one should be disposing of them anyway, they can be recycled. In fact, nothing should be going into landfill these days.
No gadget that contains a needle (syringe type) should be called a tricorder in my book.
Those are not robots, they do not meet the definition of a robot.

And so it begins.
'Agent ransack' is a good replacement for windows search - I haven't used Windows search since I installed windows 7, it is an abomination.

1) So what.
2) I'm sure the people using the energy would disagree.
Now THAT is a stupid statement, hydro power can't be sustained!! That implies that a power source needs to be infinite to be sustainable!!
Generation is small because more is needed, how is that an argument against? Price would be lower if there was more R&D, same goes for any industry.

Nuclear is clearly your religion.
You're number 68 on my list of 1000 most stupid people.
You can get a laptop with same screen+resolution, including HDD+MEM+CPU+DVD+OS for the same price so the one linked is dreadfully poor value.
