Why are videogames the problem? This is quite clearly another case of irresponsible parenting. Problems with children can be resolved with the right education and supervision from the parents.
Videogames aren't evil. They are developing functions of your brain and muscles (among many other things). Being mature-aged, I've found violent videogames quite a relief from the real-world grief. If you feel angry, why not pick up your PS2 controller, put in your favorite boxing game, and release your anger on a virtual opponent. Not all children will understand this but with the right education/supervision they can learn to balance their time and make the most of the real world and the virtual world.
Don't blame the videogames or the children, blame the parents.
