All packages have already sysvinit scripts, what is the problem to have both systemd and sysvinit scripts in the package? Other system can be easily supported by contributors who want to run the package on particular init system - like me, I am using 'runit' for init system..
.. and for people that don't like the desing of systemd and don't want to use the LARGEST security risk installed by default in many years on Debian???
I am exploring some other linux distributions as well as BSD. http://voidlinux.eu/ seems pretty nice but still in early stage of developement. It uses 'runit' as init system, packaging system si something like NetBSD pkgsrc. Other option is to replace all my linux boxes wth NetBSD (as I am using it since 2.0 version):)
Debian is dying, I can clearly see this now and I wonder when stupid people took over leadership of Debian???
I still have a lot of servers with Debian Squeeze and I am not planning to upgrade them. This is the last version of Debian that is usable for server. There will be distributions without systemd I hope (like voidlinux which is still in early stages of developement)
Things will go just like in MS Windows.
Systemd as a supervision daemon - it is ok, but replacing the whole init system/login/logging/whatever is the thing that scares me off.
I'm sysadmin using Debian for servers since it was 2.0/Hamm (back in 1999 or something). The one thing that I really like in Debian is that there are a lot of alternatives if you don't like particular software. Back in the days I was using djb daemontools to keep critical services up and running and some years ago I moved to 'runit'. Now I made some tests and it seems that 'runit' is capable of replacing/bin/init without any major problem.
The whole systemd crap is the opposite of the idea of freedom to use whatever you like. Moving to systemd because GNOME will not run on a system without X at all is just plain wrong. Debian is good for servers, desktop users probably are already moved to Ubuntu or some other user friendly distro.
Perosnally I prefer a fork of Debian!!
yep, that's the one:)
this is real children's sci-fi.. and we are talking about sci-fi not fantasy (as many people suggested harry potter/hobbit/etc...)
The best sci-fi book that i have read when i was a kid is "A girl from earth" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kir_Bulychev). Also "Gusliar Wonders" from the same author.
I don't get it. Please explain how fiber internet can be wireless? Something like spiderman is used to wire the wireless internet???
So the main problem can be solved just with systemd not running as pid 1 but running only as service supervisor. Is that possible?

Ok, use it but don't force me to use it without having a choice. What is the problem with that?
runit script is even more simple than systemd ... by your example everybody should use runit/daemontools and not systemd. :)
