It is not true that Sun should pay TrollTech for Qt. Only if you use it for commercial/closed source development:
You can find QT library under 2 licenses, here is part from theirs FAQ:
What kind of licenses exist for Qt?
The Qt toolkit is available under two different licenses: The Professional and Enterprise Editions for commercial use on all platforms, and the Free Edition for developing free/open source software for the X platform.
KDE is open source project, so noone should pay to TT for usinq QT with KDE.

Linux HA project is completely open for new members, I had very good expirience with them. Also, people who writes good code is always wanted, since project is in production stability, but far from finished. So if you have time check www site.

It is great. But ask your self a question. Technology went far in previous century. Man even went off Earth. Do you think that noone made engine that do not destroy the envirinment ? Or someone made it, bit cannot sell it. Of course, cause whole world is ruled by only one thing, money. Petrol industry can rule the world, cause they have huge amounts of money. Hence, they wont allow such things, since then they will be out of biz.

(for the record I use ONLY linux on all my computers, and support open source)
Well face it, not all things can be free. He registered SSH trade mark, made bussiness of it and what is the problem ? It is his property. Taking it is not fair, even if it is for free source. Imagine someone say "OK, Coca COla is good, let's take their formula and spread it around so everyone can make coke". Problem would be if he wants to patent crypto alghorytm for example. But with name it is ok

  6. It is not for coding on IBM, TrollTech Integrate Linux Voice Recognition · · Score: 3

As i saw, there are a lots of comments on now useless is speech recognition for coders. Of course it is. Voice recognition is made for secretaries, writers, housewifes and handicap persons, not for coders. Of course it wount interpret your speech in comand line (imagine yourself in someones eyes dicating vi commands). Idea is ti make computers easy to use for non-computer literate persons.

  7. Big question, but still nice move on NSA Releases High Security Version Of Linux · · Score: 1

I am not from USA, so I do not know much about NSA (except from reading, NSA key in Win NT etc.). Why they made this linux distro is uder big question. But one thing is sure. You do not have to use the distro but releasing such code in open source is worth a lot. Computer security is very important this days since internet is by default insecure. For linux you do not have a lot of choices in security field (as i know, only source code from Trusted Irix that gives linux C2/B1 is released). So you can read source code and do whatever you want with it.

  8. SMS-ing in Serbia on 'Texting' Takes Over The Philippines · · Score: 1

Here in Serbia situation is preety similar. Many people have a mobile phone, they bought a pre-paid card and most of time they are sending SMS messages, since it is cheaper. It is free, actually. I do not find it wrong, since we are in very bad economical situation. Still one minute of talking over mobile is expensive for most of young people.

  10. Comment from Yugoslavia on US Admits CyberWarfare against Yugoslavia · · Score: 1

I see that you are talking about cyberwar against Yugoslavia during air strikes. But you have totally wrong idea about what cyber war means. Nobody attacked some .mil comps or things like that. Most people from Yugoslavia (including myself) tried to send TRUE about what is happening here. You think that CNN and other media reported true from here ? No way. USA and NATO didn't had real human reasons to do this, except theirs own interest. So they lied about what is happening here. And all of us tried to distribute true to media, people and governments outside the country. And I think succsessfuly. Cyberwar was in distributing true, not anything else.

    Best regards from Belgrade...
