I see what you are saying, you are right. I was misunderstanding bar codes to be representing a single number...and thus this change would be increasing the range of numbers possible by an exponentially increasing amount.

Um, Having 4 colors instead of 2 doesn't mean just "double" the storage.

If you were to make 5 old-style two-color lines, you have a possible of 2^5 = 32 possible combinations.
If you were to make 5 new-style four-color lines, you have a possible of 4^5 = 1024 possible combinations.

    So...I'm sorry, try again.

Not quite, it is more like running a business where pot heads can go and find where the closest pot dealer is.

Then the question is this: is it easier to bust 1000 pot dealers, half of whom are anonymous or untracable, or the guy who helps everyone find them? They are just trying to "fix the glitch" (in office space speak) by cutting off the dealers from traffic (and thus revenue) and hoping that they go away on their own.

That part makes sense to me. What doesnt make sense is why they have chose yahoo china and not other search engines also.

Actually, neither Gmail nor Gmail Talk or even Google Maps for that matter use XHR to make server calls. They use their little iframe method.

Lets examine your statements shall we?
    - Yahoo Messenger is...cheaper. I looked...almost all the international calling rates are cheaper. This is this a bad thing how?
    - Yahoo Messenger has...no handset. It just came out today. I am sure there will be plenty available.
    - Yahoo Messenger has...no SkypeIn equivalant. Try reading the page before making a comment. Read: http://beta.messenger.yahoo.com/ more carefully. This feature is there...and not only is it there, it is cheaper and doesn't require a minimum 3 month buyin like Skype does.
    - Yahoo Messenger has...ads. What? Maybe you have some super secret ad-infested version. But the one I have doesn't have any ads.

Anyway, I think this is pretty cool to have in one of the top 3 messenger clients. I'll at least give it a few tries...if only cause it's cheaper than alternatives.

I love it how so many of you think not being listed on Google News is the end of a newspaper's career. You do not realize that Google News is not even in the top 10 for most popular news site on the internet.

Here is a quote from a Marketwatch article today: "Yahoo! News is No. 1, with 24.6 million unique visitors in December, up 15% from a year ago, followed by AOL at No. 4, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. Google News stands at No.13 with 7.8 million unique visitors..."
