I had to reinstall a fried hard drive on a clients point of sale workstation. I was happy it was W2k so I did not have to hassle with the product activation that would be with XP. They still have the license available and installed on the same workstation. It is confusing with Microsoft licensing about used computers, OEM licenses, new hardware, non-transferrable.
Open source keeps looking better and I hope it picks up more developers and software offerings.
