It's not allowed to change anything in blackboard's perl scripts or even the HTML.
In Blackboard its possible to create extensions or building blocks as they call it. This has an extremely low priority at Blackboard I don't get it. It actually seems as though they want to make money on the building blocks courses instead of creating a good semi-open source environment.
What you do get with blackboard is security for server-up time. The question is whether it's worth the money. I don't know.
