Only because they have incompetent programmers that can't understand code closer to hardware than four levels of abstraction away, and don't understand how to write their own graphical extensions, which OpenGL supports, and will always kick DirectX's ass on.

What do you mean with these graphical extensions?

Still, thanks for the recipe for removing all Modern apps. :)

  6. Meeh on Comparison: Linux Text Editors · · Score: 1

Lots of text editors are garbage. Notepad++ looks amateurish, or do you think that any professional program would name one of its tabs "MISC."? Sublime Text is not any better as it does not have proper configuration dialogues at all (a proper graphical program should have). Vim and Emacs have some cool features but the keybindings are unnecessarily unintuitive. If those two didn't have the hacker legacy and they were invented today, no one would use them. I surely am an angry man. :D

The electricity that goes in Bitcoin mining is essentially converted to 100% heat. So the problem can be avoided every time when the heat can be utilized somehow, for example to warm up a house. Which is, of course, almost never. ;)

I'm not sure about "hyper-realistic". :) Sprite characters which say a pre-recorded line when you trigger them? Whoopy. Actually, looking at the video, it resembles a lot the game Under a Killing Moon from 1994.
