I can tell you in Ohio (with newer Honda Civic) my assist features are fooled and/or disabled all the time by snow and rain and metal plates on the road (wants to stop).
There is salt residue all over the roads and the lines are hard to see, so the lane assist is messed up also.
They have a long ways to go before I trust any kind of autonomous vehicle in this area
Doctors here are taught medicine, not nutrition. So overweight people here are not told to cut out sugars and carbs, they are sold gastric bypass and other surgeries to make the stomach smaller. It's mind boggling how greed and money rule the system here. Anything that threatens their profits is sued or extinguished!
In USA people are against public transport because they want separation from 'riff raff' (bad people). They want to be far away in the suburbs and drive to everything. Only the poor, young and daring live in the cities. We don't have a unified culture and people avoid each other and many times don't even know their closest neighbors
In Sweden do you have 60 percent overweight and 30% obese people who would bankrupt the system if they were given free health care? We have uneducated and unhealthy people eating boxed food and pizza and instead of improving diet and fitness. Most of our health issues like diabetes require food and fitness education not free Healthcare so that doctors can prescribe drugs that taxpayers would support
The only thing keeping me on Cable TV is live sports, DVR, and my wife has a few shows she watches. I do like how cable is separated from the internet modem/router and I can re-boot it without taking down the TV.
With SlingTV, DirecTV, Playstation Vue much cheaper than cable I am getting ready to switch to internet based. They have cloud DVR's so you save some electricity also
That's why your 'use case' may require an ICE vehicle that can go 700+ miles like a Honda Accord (or hybrid). But 99% of people are driving less than 150 miles total per day so electric would not be an issue. However apartment dwellers may not have the option of a charging station at home so gas isn't going away for a while

In my 2016 Civic, many times when I was driving in the bad conditions, the car warned me that the safety features were turned off because sensors temporarily are down. But I can still drive the car myself. So I still don't get how the self driving cars will handle this without getting destroyed on the highway

paper currencies can be inflated and over printed which steals money from everyone. These block chain currencies have a hard limit on coins. Also how do you ban an open protocol that's decentralized and global?

there are 16 million bitcoins, and about 3 million are abandoned/un-used. There are at least 50 million people in this world trading coins, so I can't imagine Bitcoin ever going below $20 ever again. People will buy them just because they can't be printed like the dollar is to infinity.
The idea is to store money in a pool that is not associated with any nation. You cannot easily buy natural resources or stocks in other countries. Bitcoin is much easier. So bitcoin is going no-where especially as the dollar is printed to infinity by our country. Can't do that with bitcoin

You always have the option of renting a gasoline car for long trips, and in most two car families you can have one gas vehicle.
