Definitely true - however, if you've ever been a victim of credit card fraud, it's a major pain. Basically after you call your credit card company to tell them that there have been fraudulent purchases with your account YOU get treated like the crook! They make you fill out all these forms and talk to numerous people who are supposed to be "fraud investigators". But the questions are basically stupid ones that they throw at you in the hopes that it was your son/daughter/spouse/coworker that stole your card. So after weeks of you wasting your time (and basically playing detective for them), there's no gaurantee that your credit rating won't be affected and you still feel like they've done very little to "protect" you.
Just two cents from someone who has had to go through the hassle:)
