He's no longer backing Hillary Clinton.
I certainly did, however, lose respect for Senator Clinton when she decided, after that, to attend a fundraiser thrown for her by the video game industry and by ESA's Doug Lowenstein. To me, that was a sell-out for campaign cash.
[JackThompson] "The Bible doesn't promote killing innocent people," Thompson said. "Grand Theft Auto does. Islam does. Islam promotes the killing of innocent people. The Quran requires the infidel, whether Jew or Christian, to be killed.... That's a core essence of the religion.... Muhammad was a pirate who killed infidels and who advocated the killing of infidels. Not a nice guy. Osama bin Laden is in keeping with his fine tradition."

Okay, Radical Christian Right. Comprised primarily of belligerent lawyers, preachers, and daytime TV hosts with a collective axe to grind. I meant no offense to normal, goodly right-wing Christians.
Considering the estimated costs of rebuilding New Orleans, I think his statement is pretty fair. The ISS is a much more tangled, complicated project, and it totals about $100 billion. New Orleans is now being estimated at $200 billion.
That is probably the most informed discussion about the current state of advanced energy/space technologies that I have ever read. Dr. Edwards seems like a very even-handed, practical, and worldly individual, with the kind of vision we need to truly make progress in coming decades.
Too bad he's is a space elevator wacko. Narf!@#!!
Space shuttle 4-eva!
The two companies are focused on combining AOL's Web content with Microsoft's search-engine technology...
Anything that makes it harder to find "AOL's Web content" is fine by me.
Stomach Ulcer or 'Brain' from Ninja Turtles? Dr. Marshall was aided in his research by four unnamed heroes. Says Marshall: "When the stomach ulcer attacked, those boys didn't cut it no slack."
Basicaly, if I can pick it up off the air, why can't I record it and replay it whenever I want? Don't want it to become public domain? Then don't broadcast it: Use pay-service such as Cable or satellite radio. Put it on a broadcast channel?
Although I agree, it's interesting to note that in the UK, to watch broadcast television, you must pay ~$300 per year for a television license (there is no way to enforce this, except by people reporting you - in which case you are heavily fined and possibly jailed). So the idea that everything which is broadcast is free doesn't really hold everywhere, copyright infringement issues aside.
Wikipedia has not changed the nature of truth. Wikipedia has only made it easier to access free, democratic information, thus allowing readers to make more informed choices about truth based on a larger range of fact and opinion. It is, in my opinion, very much preferable to watching news or the discovery channel, where fact-checking is such a tedious and after-the-fact process that it barely ever occurs.
If you want to criticize someone for homogenizing the truth, look to secondary school and university educators and textbook publishers, who cannot afford to have a definite perspective on truth, due to lobbyist groups and bureaucrats.

This is actually not very surprising. As the article points out, bars are common spiral galaxies. It would have been more surprising to find conclusive evidence against a bar.
Didn't they see James Bond: Moonraker?!
If you send humans into space, evil madmen will form space station communes and plot global genocide!

And I don't see why the parent post was modded Redundant, seeing how TFA doesn't link to www.pennyarcade.com. *sigh*

These idiots have been so careless as to post on their www.pennyarcade.com web site what they are doing regarding the harassment of me.
w ww.pennyarcade.com/
Actually www.pennyarcade.com was the website for a "Queer theatre" troupe.

I guess it's a moot point to jokingly call Jack homophobic. His attacks on Islam have already painted him as cookie-cutter Christian Right.

So that's really not BS...

And then, a million bloggers rose in triumphant jubilation, only to sit back down panting heavily.

What will they think of next? DRM fruit? Apples you can only take five bites out of!
