He didn't! I 've seen a screening and it's a very good film! It's not the TV show, but it stays true to it.

Having seen the film (5/5 screening in Seattle) I can tell you that neither of the trailers give away the plot in a way.:)

He doesn't play with them, but there is a second or two of them in the BG of a scene if I remember correctly.
"They put engine noises in space." That's just the trailer. The film has no sound in the blackness of space.
It is NOT Buffy in space. Not even close. If you'd give it a chance (by watch at least the first DVD) then you would see that. Just sayin' :)
