I worked in a casting facility a while ago where in the dirtiest (ferous dust, etc) locations we used those roll up keyboards. They work great in terms of keeping sediment from getting into the mechanisms, but unfortunately do not survive "typical" use for a normal keyboard for long. The contact points in the keys simply fail.
