Transformers will just be the first of the 80's blockbuster remakes. The toy companies planted the seeds 20 years ago, and now they can begin reaping all that they sowed. All the kids that grew up on these properties have jobs and disposable income (or kids). Converting all their childhood memories into films is like printing money (just ask Lucas). Fox is already planning He-Man, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the live-action Care Bears Movie in 2008. Personally, other than Transformers (my favorite), I'm waiting to see "The Smurfs, from the creators of The Lord of the Rings"...
