I am not a musician - But my understanding is that musicians and bands make most of their money by touring.
I met a Rock Star, once. He hit it big in the late 80's, and is still Rockin'. Being the network geek that I am, the subject of online distribution and piracy came up. In his words, "He used to tour to promote albums, now he uses singles and albums promote tours."
Perhaps Pirate Bay's business model may have a shot. I can certainly think of at least one industry just begging for more creative destruction...
Funny that HBI's post was modded down. Probably by one of those "tolerant" people. I guess when you've lost the debate, you have to resort to thuggish behavior.
it looks like a properly served warrant for access to a specific device. Pretty much exactly what I would expect (and want!!) law enforcement to do while investigating a crime.
Exactly. If the State has to get a search warrant in order to access this alleged scumbag's data, regardless if they succeed, I feel better about my rights as a (mostly)non-scumbag.
Having evolved to chew through solid rock... They bored into the earth, and have evolved to make sustainable life energy in the heat below the earth's mantle... What's that noise?... Come closer to the campfire.
If they are smart, they will evolve into goa'uld, and be preserved forever on Netflix...
I dunno. Whether we still have an Enterprise deployed or not, it's gonna be tough for them to win a war with weapons and armor 'made in China'. Zergbattle tactics will likely fare poorly against beam weapons...
What if Google set up a market protocol to buy Chrome bugs? $1k each, with strict disclosure and delivery terms. We might just deplete the entire Chinese exploit arsenal in 3 months... Or at least boost the knowledge-base of Chrome using CS students everywhere.
Research reveals that redheads:
are more sensitive to cold
...
In other respects, however, redheads turn out to be tougher than other people.
Research has produced evidence that redheads are less sensitive to stinging pain in the skin.
This was shown in tests where capsaicin, the active substance in chilli, was injected into the skin to produce pain.
...
"Our tests showed that redheads are less sensitive to this particular type of pain. They react less to pressure close to the injected area, or to a pinprick. They seem to be a bit better protected, and that is a really interesting finding," says Professor Lars Arendt-Nielsen of the Center for Sensory-Motor Interaction at Aalborg University.
Tough to melee a guy that doesn't feel pain as strongly as you. What if most berserkers had red hair? Due to their ironic sensitivity to cold, it probably wouldn't take much to push them over the edge after days of rowing the frozen oceans. I'll bet after leaving their warm yurts, they were even more pissed they hadn't left the Land of Ice and Snow as fast as the recruiter promised...

I don't see adults doing drugs to be a problem unless they screw themselves up. At that point I also believe it is their problem.
I agree, it takes two to tango. I simply think one tango is lame, and the other tango is understandable. Selling drugs is illegal. Betraying legitimate trust is illegal and WRONG.
I agree. This is a market reality.
Viva La Mercado. Not sure Illegal is always wrong in these United States of so many laws I have to pay some certified guy $500/hr to read them to me. No utopia here friend, just hopefully a free market for the best ideas to float to the top, unassaulted by the ravages of politics...
The statement "The bill, HR 3699, would have prevented agencies of the federal government from requiring public access to federally subsidized research. " sounds like the bill would have prevented the requirement that federally funded research be public? I must have my head up my ass again...
I guess I reconcile them thus: There will always be a market for information. I hope our people do more buying than selling. Selling information you are entrusted to protect is despicable. Buying information you need is understandable.
To say that it is the buyer's fault is like saying "If everyone were perfect, X would happen"
I believe systems must be designed for the real world, not utopia. I hope our systems work better. Even if they are based on that evil money I never seem to have enough of...
The only corporate media reference to George Zimmerman's father I can find using 30 seconds of Google activity, is that the LA Times saying ...his father, Robert, a retired magistrate judge.... A magistrate judge, according to wikipedia, "In the United States federal courts, magistrate judges are appointed to assist United States district court judges in the performance of their duties." Sorry i can't Google more, but I'm afraid the ADD will wear off and I'll have to go to bed...
Pops being a judge definitely adds a wrinkle.
Speaking of politics, has anyone noticed the price of gas lately?!
Sand Vagina. That's rough.
I HOPE he means SCOTUS!!?!
Excellent. Can we make one weighing 60 ton's armed with dual LBX-20's, a Large Clan Laser, and 4 C Streak SRM 6's, with 12 tons of extra ammo?

So it has come to this.
Nah, it's just the Slashdot effect...

Millions of bits worth...
What do you want to bet most of the hardware the UN purchases will be manufactured behind the Iron Firewall?
I'll bet I don't think this is a good idea...

Idiocracy is a most apt description of our political class...

Sure. But are they America proof?
Ideas are powerful.
Perhaps if they paid for the policy in Bitcoins?

Lol, sure. Do you happen to have any shampoo?
Crap I see this has been discussed. Well at least my head is out now...

Only if he talks about it afterwards... :D
I see what you tried to do there.
"Men typically produce working sperm as long as they live..."
....
Well, yeah. Men typically op-test the sperm banks as often as possible.
Maintenance is important
Seems like a familiar acronym...
From the article:
"Government and diplomatic sources from around the world give Stratfor advance knowledge of global politics and events in exchange for money."
I hope it's effective. I don't have a problem with people buying info.
I do have a huge problem with people in positions of responsibility selling it for their own profit at our expense though...
