It seems to me, that of the lot, Jerry Coyne came the closest to this idea, "Many behaviors of modern humans were genetically hard-wired (or soft-wired) in our distant ancestors by natural selection".
I believe that this concept is dangerous because most people don't like the idea of being considered a biological machine whose sole purpose is to perpetuate itself. If you are a machine, you have no "soul", hence, no identity. You can only imagine the amount of trouble these ideas can conjure... *COUGH*-evolution-*COUGH*...
